The flu can knock you off your feet for days or even weeks if you're unlucky. But with the right care, you may be able to shorten the duration of your illness and get back on your feet faster. Here are 10 tips for getting over the flu quickly:


1. Get Plenty of Rest


Your body needs rest to fight off the virus. Stay home from work or school and sleep as much as possible. Avoid strenuous activity and just take it easy until your fever is gone. Rest allows your immune system to focus its energy on combating the virus.


2. Stay Hydrated


Drink lots of fluids, particularly water and electrolyte replacement drinks like Gatorade. The flu often leads to dehydration, which can prolong your illness. Hydration provides nutrients, thins out mucus, and keeps your energy levels up. Soup, tea, and broth also count towards your fluid intake.


3. Take OTC Flu Medications
